I recently built an AMD athlon XP system with an Asus K7V266-E.
I'm running Windows XP.

I took out my Geforce2 Ti from my Win98se gaming system, and put it into this new one.

Fired up Return to Wolfenstein, and it won't run...something about "Opengl" problems or something.

I went to opengl.org, and they said to download 1.2 or 1.3 for this problem...but I can't find it.

I have a PNY Verto Geforce2 Ti card...about 3-4 months old. It worked fine on my Win98 system...I've been gaming with it, no problems since I bought it back during Christmas.

What's the deal with windows XP?

You are probably using the default Nvidia drivers that came with WinXP on the WinXP CD,anyway they don`t support openGL so all you need to do is install newer Nvidia drivers.

I had the exact same problem and switching to the new drivers solved all my problems

<< OpenGL v1.1 software runtime is included as part of operating system for WinXP, Windows 2000, Windows 98, Windows 95 (OSR2) and Windows NT.
So you only need to download this if you think your copy is somehow missing.
The OpenGL v1.1 libraries are also available as the self-extracting archive file from the Microsoft Site via HTTP or FTP.

OpenGL v1.2 & 1.3 are included with the drivers for your OpenGL video cards. So you only need to make sure you have the latest OpenGL driver for your video card.

Bottom line, as they said above, download the latest drivers for your particular card from the manufacturer's web site.
