...my case is really tight by design and the cables block alot of natural airflow...any ideas?? I would rather NOT try to make them myself if some one produces them ready made....TIA

anyone know of a cheaper place? i don't have time to roll my own, but if they are like $10 or less each, i'll put them in every machine i build...

sort of on-topic: anyone know where to get FLUORO green/pink zip-ties? (ie: glow under blaklite)

oh, man, gotta roll your own. you get a tighter pack, you know the green is good, and...er, wait a minute....

Really, takes me about 15min to do an ATA cable (25 to do an ATA100). and this is mindless work, easily done while you are watching star trek reruns. floppy cables are more of a challenge, but once you remove the extra, unused sockets, it gets trivial.

Just went home from comdex.
I spoke for a couple of minuter with a guy from PI Manifacturing and he showed me some very nice done rounded cable.
17$ for the ata66, part num. 2311-0001.

PS they have no pics, but they're supposed to put those on by next week.
That's what he told me.

OoOOoO i like thoes cables.
But 40 buck is a bit steep for one cable.
Mabey for the main system.
What about cheap plain ol' ata100 cables.
Whats the best for rolling, like the strongest?

I posted earlier.
I have bought rounded SCSI cables and they are nice.
The seller can be reached at jtill@galaxyispc.com
The 3 connetor ,two device cable I bought was 14.99.
If a cramped case or poor airflow are problems
then this seems reasonable.
the seller was prompt and curteous during my transaction.
I have no interest nor do I know the seller except
thru purchasing by email.

Rounding cables is a no-brainer for standard floppy or 40 pin IDE cables. Just split the cable every fifth strand or so and cover them with a piece of 3/8 inch plastic corragated tubing. This makes for a very tidy cable installation. Shorten the cables first if possible. Most cable connecters are easy to remove and recycle after the cable is shortened. Just be careful and all should go fine.

On the 80 wire IDE cables, you can cut at every 8th. I read a nice article on better instructions, but lost the link.
You can also use some cheap wireloom to hold the cords neatly.

Man, do it yourself. It is as easy as hell. I did it in about 5 minutes. All you need is a decent fingernail and some electrical tape.

You're Ingenious, I was shredding every strands. My cable was slit in the middle by an IDE connector. I gave up after I finish shredding the first half.
