where can I buy one of those 7volt pre made adapters for fans?

make one yourself.

take the ground wire & move it to the far end of the conector on any 4 pin fan connector, presto you have 7V .

you can use a pin to push in the stops & pull out the wire then connect it to the other end, that's how i made my 7V connector. 🙂 bonus every fan you connect to it has 7v . 🙂

yeah the problem is that it feedbacks into the power supply... i haven't seen it kill a power supply in my lifetime but it might diminish it's life. So buying a premade adaptor that uses a resistor to drop the voltage might be a worthwhile investment.

Check out SVC.com. They have all sorts of fan controllers and adapters.

You could get the Zalman Fan Mate for $3.99 or if you want to go all out, get the Sunbeam for $17.99.

another vote for the sunbeam or fanmate (got them both). It's really nice to have the variable speed control.

it won't kill the PSU. however, Budman's description was a bit off....

google for "7v fan mod", theres guides a-plenty.
