Where can I buy odd USB cables and pieces for making cables?

I want to buy or buy the stuff nessasary to make a few things. First, a USB header extension cable like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6832581805
Second something similar in idea to this (usb header to normal USB plug):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5844350683

I wouldn't mind at all having to make the stuff, I would need parts similar to these:
(the headers and terminal pins that I can crimp)

And these so I can plug the two female header plugs into each other (jumper terminals):

Basically what I want to do is buy/make an extension cable for a USB card reader that plugs into a 1x5 usb motherboard header. Unfortunately I already snipped the end off, so it would be easiest if I had the usb terminal pins to make the end again. And then I can either buy an extension cable or make my own that has one female USB header end and one male usb header end. Finally, I want to use the other 1x5 motherboard header plug on that 2x5 section to turn into a normal USB female end so I can plug a normal USB device into it. (similar in idea to the 2nd link above).

So I'm looking for places to order funky or weird cables or the parts so I can make my own cables. Any ideas? I can probably scrounge some things from old non working computer parts or ends from USB mobo connectors. I dont want to pay enourmous amounts of money (those ebay auction are a bit steep for cables like this). I've played around on google a bit, its proving harder to find than I thought.

Maybe I should check some electronic parts websites like mouser?

When considering odd cabling needs, plus kind of neat to brouse.
www.allelectronics.com and www.pchcables.com

What you linked from virtual-hideout can be found at www.action-electronics.com.
They do not sell junk, ie, knock off connectors/shells or pins. Prices are not bad.

I have bought from all three and when requested will ship USPS uninsured ground.
There is a low weight limit for this cheap shipping. I find the risk worth it.

Great thanks! I'll check those out. Yeah I was wondering where the virtual-hideout guy got his stuff but I didn't see it mentioned in the article. I also checked out pccables.com but I didn't know about pchcables.com
