When I was in high school, I stayed with a family in Madrid, Spain for 3 weeks during the summer. I remember eating Jamon Serrano and another cured meat they just called 'Lomo' a LOT. It was totally abundant and the family had it around for almost every lunch and dinner.
So.. since then, I've been craving Jamon Serrano. Though, all I've seen here is country-cured ham, prosciutto (german and italian styles), and some other variations.. but none of them taste anything close to jamon serrano.
Where the hell can I get some? Also, the closest thing I've found to 'lomo' is Sopressanto except Sopressanto is insanely expensive and in Spain it was everywhere. Anyone know what it is that they were just referring to as 'lomo'?
