Where can I buy coils and inductors? Or how can I make them?

Radio shack sells a bag full of them...but they are random parts with unlabelled values. Fry's doesn't have them either. I tried digi-key.com but the catalogue was confusing for me because I don't have a lot of knowledge of electronic components.

I'm trying to build RF circuits like FM transmittors, radio controlled circuits, FM receiver, ect.

Thanks,

I didn't see any...I went twice. I doubt anyone there would know wtf a coil/inductor is. They'll just point me towards the electronics department.

ypu definately don't want to build your inductors...even mass-produced ones aren't nearly as reliable as capacitors/resistors...

I have wound plenty of Inductors >coils< and have had no problem except when you get to very high frequencies 145mhz and over. Go here and request a cataloge Link Or call 1-800-433-5700 and ask for Cathy Olson.

Well, for starters how about:

The inductors that look like resistors:
.15uh miniature inductor (brown and green bands)
2.2uh miniature inductor (red and red bands)

Adjustable coils:
5.5 turn slug tuned coil
IF can style RF transformer (421F122)
Shielded inductor slug tuned coil (small silver can)

Thanks,
Null

<Edit>
Oh also:
8uh miniature inductor (or close to it)

18pf, 22pf, and 27pf Mylar, Polystyrene, or NPO capacitors
