I was driving on the parkway and a little pebble got flicked up from some truck's tires and hit my windshield causeing a little spider web type crack.

I want to get it fixed and heard tat there are cheap putty type things out there. anyone use any of these and can recommend me a good one?

thanks in advance

edit: I AM LOOKING TO ORDER IT OFF THE NET

It's called comprehensive insurance. You pay for it, use it. Most auto glass companies waive your deductible if insurance is paying.

Its just a little crack off to the side, I don't want to replace my entire windshield. besides I only have liability for insurance.

A cigar shop? A flower shop? A snackbar?

Or you could of course try a car repair centre, a pumpstation or a superstore... but that would be cheating!

worked for me.....I got a 1/4" chip in my windshield just before I turned in a lease vehicle, was worried they were gonna charge me to replace it..

So I got one of those kits at PEPBoys - I think it was about $8 - crack was almost invisible after that :)

Behold the power of a search engine.

Seriously though I had a small crack repaired for me at a local windshield shop. Found them by using some old technology, the yellow pages phonebook! They used some sort of silicone concrete stuff, took about 10 minutes and cost me a whopping $20. After that the windshield was fine, almost as good as new.

thanks for all your help everyone.

I never thought to go ask a local garage if they could fix it. I'm going to do that today after work.

You're welcome and that's what I would do. They'll probably charge you $10 for the windshield repair kit and $10 for labor. 10 minutes later they're done.
