Where can I buy a fan that spin clockwise?

Hi guys,
I want to mod my NV5 Rev.2 and put a more powerful fan on it. I have done this with the older VGA Silencer on my Radeon 9800Pro. Unfortunately, the fan on the NV5 Rev.2 spins clockwise and I need a motor on a fan the spins in the same direction.

The direction of spin should not be important its the direction of airflow that is important. Put a fan on your card one way and it will blow toward the card, flip it over and it will blow away from the card. Some fans will still allow reverse polarity (reverse rotation) but most are diode protected and can only rotate one way. You will find two little arrows (very hard to see on some) molded into the frame of most fans that show the directions of air flow and rotation.

The reason why I asked for a clockwise fan b/c I want to use the blade fin on the silencer. I am just replacing the motor on the fan to get more power out of it. Since the silencer blade is designed to spin clockwise in order to blow air out of the case. Spinning counterclockwise would suck air into the case.

The nv silencer doesn't use a normal fan, it uses a blower. If you ran it backwards, it would just suck air into the middle of the fan instead of blowing it outwards (towards the heatsink).

I know it's a blower type and b/c of the direction of the blade, I have to get a motor that turn clockwise. So it's impossible that I can find a fan that turn clockwise. Even a slot blower is counter clockwise.

You could try to overvolt the present fan - most can deal with 13.x volts or so. Or you could just replace the whole card cooler assembly for an aftermarket one that cools better.

The NV5 Rev.2 is an aftermarket cooler. I just want to give it a more powerful fan.
Thanks.

Have you tried removing the blades from the motor yet? That could be difficult if not impossible.

Not yet but I can imagine it won't be that hard. Just peel off the sticker on the back of the fan, then take off the white plastic washer in the hold and pull the blade with magnet out. Of course the core of the motor will be destroy once remove. But I am not going to do it if I can't find a fan that spin clockwise. 🙂
