The more I see your posts, the less and less I like you haha. You get a golden chip, you pay 340$, you have a gorgeous water cooling setup....It's just not fair haha.

I don't like him either, he has the case, cooling, and chip I was planning on getting. 😀 😛

Although he's gotten the testing out of the way, which makes it easier for the rest of us to figure out what works best. Mmm, delidded chips.

Well if it is at eleveated prices (420 USD?), then obviously it is more likely that the supply will last (longer at least, now it is out again). But the fact the prices are high above MSRP means the scarcity in supply still holds.
Situation is probably improving somewhat tho, Amazon must have been selling more of them because despite being oos 8700K is #2 there now. It fell to #100 range after the launch for whole october.
But it is still very limited, the sales at mindfactory aren't climbing up as much as you would expect from 8700K, yet.

Hopefully we see close to MSRP on everything up to the 8700 soon. I suspect we won't see MSRP on the 8700K for at least 4-6 months. The 8700k is the biggest release from Intel since the i7 920 and the new gold standard for builds.

Amazon has added the 8700 non-K back to pre-orders for $340, they expect to have stock November 30.

Newegg has it in stock now but for $360, and $415 for the K.

Amazon expects to have the K on November 23, but want $415 for it so Newegg makes more sense.

Chips will be flying in now that they have another facility pumping them out. Price and availability won't be a problem here shortly. I can even see a cyber monday deal, maybe only for combo's on the cpu and mobo's easily. Mark my words, price on newegg will be dropping very soon on the 8700k.

While I think the price will be dropping shortly as supply catches up to demand, I don’t expect any deals on them. There seems to be far too much 7700K inventory to clear out judging by how many places have bundles/sales on them.

Supply should start catching up real soon. The new facility starting to make coffee lake chips is definitely going to help alleviate the shortage. It's a good sign that newegg has had them in stock for a while now at $415. That means they aren't selling out at the inflated asking price so price drops are inevitable.

How soon? I didn't see a date in the AT article.

Amazon is only about a half a week behind on inventory at this point too.
