I'm doing a model and I need a 1.75" diameter clear acrylic rod.... only need like 1' long. Tried hobby stores, hardware stores, phone book, google search, ebay, but can't find that specifically. Anybody know?

LOL, the worst thing I can think of that anyone could make with that is a foot long anal probe. :Q And no, I'm not making that.

I got some great stuff from a platics shop, not sure what catagory I found them in, probably plastics. They sell and manafacture the plastics, as well as the solvents for them. I bought some and made a great tray/stand for my laptop in my expedition. It had holes for all the cords and pivoted off the middle console.

EDIT: I am speaking of the good old yellow pages, sorry, lol.

Damn, that was quick..... thanks werk. Such a simple name too. Wonder why google didn't bring it up in the first 50 hits.... sometimes you get too many hits.

wow, not bad. $6 a foot. But minimum is 4. Still, probably the best option.
It's $9.15 for a 4' x 1 3/4" rod ~$2.29/ft

You're welcome, BaDaBooM...we order from them all the time at work, they're a good company. I don't know what shipping is like (we don't pay for shipping) or if they have a minimum order though.

Look in your local Yellow Pages.

There are a few plastics companies that sell scraps by the pound.

(I'm talking cheap, like $3/pound).

I learned of this when I took a sculpture class. Acrylic can be bent, glued, drilled, painted, etc...was really fun to work with.

Actually it turns out that evadman was right. I order 1 unit for $9.15 and I just got an email that says they only sell in 4 foot units at $9.15 a foot. :(
