I have seriously looked everywhere- I'm not being lazy.

I can't seem to find anywhere that carries it or sells it.

areasys.com has it- but there is no price.

Also, does anyone know if this has a slide-out MB tray?

I want that. I am sick of my tiny enlight case and I need somehthing with at least 5 5 1/4 bays- and this seems like its for me. I like how it has a ton of internal bays for HDDs also.

I hope someone knows where to buy this.

Thanks.

Email Jim Hanson, I believe his address is jfh@jimhansonslan.org but I'm not at all sure about it--do a search for "jim hanson" and he'll come up.. I got my genie from him. btw, i own it and have no idea if it has a slide out mb tray or not, i didn't know anyone actually used those things =P. Oh and i'm not sure but I think it only has 4 5.25" bays.. if you want more, get a full tower...eg.. Supermicro 760A/Addtronics 7896A-120.

Hey thanks everyone for the replies..

I will email jfh to check prices..

but my heart has gone for another; the lovely and talented ANTEC KS188 .

This baby is where its at!
http://www.kdcomputers.com/ks188.htm

It has 5 external 5.25 bays (just what I wanted- 2 swapable HDD bays, 1 burner and 1 24X; plus one to add a toaster. You have heard on slashdot.org about the new "Bread Bays" haven't you?)

One external 3.5.

It also has room for 7 internal 3.5" HDDs.

It has 2 large fan places in the back top, along with a fan right behind the processor.

Its nice and tall- tons of room and also offers a removable mobo tray. (If I ever use it)

It has a removable top, and also removable side panels (great because I hate haaving to pull my PC out to take off the top of the case.)

Here is the official Antec page on it:

Here is a [pokey] wireframe spec of the case:

Here are some great comments on it, and how to cool it:

Alright but let me just say this.. that Antec is not even in the same LEAGUE as the Genie, especially from a cooling standpoint. Not even close.

Wow, I did not even know that.

I remember a while ago people were speaking highly of the Chenbro Genie..

What makes the cooling so amazing in the case?

It seems like the Antec KS188 is a little taller (having an extra external 5.25 bay)- so my guesses are:

-The intake fan is not as close to the CPU- thus, less cooling?

-The Antec is not as wide as the Chenbro.. ?

Could some people expound on why the Chenbro Genie and Junior are such wonderful cases?

Personally, I am not looking to overclock for a while- being that IO hate a loud PC (I have to live with it), and also reason being is that I have a PIII 500 Katmai. I doubt I will ever get much OCing out of it..

(Besides! The Duron can be OCed ! Yeah! )

But I would be really interested in why people are agreeing on the Chenbro Genie being such a wonderful cooling case..

Just overall, much higher quality.

Second, because it has big fan slots already set, you can put in quiet panaflo fans and your system can be both cool and quiet.

Third, if you really want to save money, i'd look into the Antec SX830(its not quite full tower, but its a good case)... Its an excellent case for the money. And has great stock cooling to boot(and fairly quiet).

If you aren't overclocking or are doing a mild overclock, there is no better case for the money than the Antec SX830.. it has good cooling, is cheap, and is quiet. The Genie is better because it has 120mm direct cooling near the CPU and 92mm direct cooling near the HD and supporting the 120mm near the CPU.. but you pay for it. The Antec KS188 has no fans near the CPU except for the power supply fan, with distant 92mms at the top. That represents the cooling theory of 2-3 years ago.

The Chenbro does look nice- I got an email back from jfh and he stated a couple points about the Chenbro Genie:
"The GENIE is a 120 Superstation/small server class case built with a removable hard drive cage, 90/120 fan mounts, and very competent cooling."

It does seem like a great case.. but for me, I need to have another external 5.25 bay (5 total)- and since I won't be greatly overclocking, I don't need the 120mm fans to be mounted.

The KS188 is for me- having nice size, lots of external bays and a $60 drop in price (including a 300W PS!)

Thanks all.
