Where can a 5870/5850 fit in the ff. cases?

Antec Three Hundred: 18" (H) x 8.1" (W) x 18.3" (D)
Antec Nine Hundred Two: 19.4" (H) x 8.6" (W) x 18.6" (D)
Antec Twelve Hundred: 22.9" (H) x 8.4" (W) x 20.2" (D)

The above figures are from the Antec site.

The W and D of each one seemed fairly close to each other (except for the D of the Twelve Hundred). I was wondering if a 5870 could fit in all of those cases (particularly the Three Hundred - although the smallest of the bunch, it's W and D are not significantly smaller than the Nine Hundred Two which is fairly huge).

Can a 5870 fit in the Three Hundred? How about a 5850?

Thanks.

Anybody know if a 5870 can fit in an Antec Three Hundred?

Do I need the Nine Hundred Two or Twelve Hundred if I want a 10.5" card like the 5870?

Thanks.

I sent an email to the Antec Tech support, asking if they had a mATX case that supported 10.5" cards and they replied:

I suggest using our Three Hundred enclosure. This will support the video card, and is smaller than most of the other cases. this case is not MicroATX form factor, it is mid tower design.

Wow, awesome! Thanks cjr22 🙂

I already had my heart set on the Three Hundred, but was worried that it won't be spacious enough for a 10.5" card.

Thanks a lot!

The 300 can fit 10.5" cards, though you might lose the use of the adjacent HDD bay.

Sure they do. I have an Antec NSK3480 with a GTX 285 in it. The biggest problem is not fitting a big graphics card into that case, but fitting a power supply with sufficient power into that case. Basically the PSU has to be no longer than around 5.5". I think the Antec EarthWatts up through 500W were that size. Also, the discontinued Antec TruePower Trio were that size (up to 650W). Rosewill Green series up to 700W are also that size, as are Enhance 5150 500W.

I tried slightly bigger PSUs that were 5.9" and they didn't fit.

Thanks, Zap! That's great, since I only need to fit 2 HDDs and the Three Hundred has a lot of them to spare, I don't mind losing one or even two drive bays to fit a card.

This is really great news for me, since the Three Hundred is pretty much just 50% of the price of the Nine Hundred Two, and I like the way it looks (pretty conservative) compared to its bigger brothers (900/902/1200).

Wow, do my eyes deceive me or is that really huge? Or is it just extra wide?

I wish I had the money, but the fact that I'm hunting for a cheap Antec 300 instead of a 900 says otherwise 🙁

lol its extra long and it has a pyramid type top.

😛

you did ask for a sff that could fit a long card. 😛
