So I think I'm finally going to jump on the bandwagon here. I'm highly overdue for an upgrade. I don't have a Microcenter anywhere near me, and I see many people have them already. Where are you getting them from? A google only revealed a few of the usual places (TD, NE). Who's got the best deal on them and the motherboards?

Newegg is pretty nice when you get a combo deal that gives free Civilization V copy and $20 off with a motherboard.

NCIX is pretty good with K pricing. Well, was I guess, used to be $319.99 now its $328.99 for 2600K.

I bought mine from Micro Center. Just so happens they were having an inventory glitch that day and I got my i5 2500k for $39.99 (it rang up as some .net book).

So (to all out there), if you wanna try your luck and see if they haven't fixed the glitch, head to the Micro Center in Rockville, MD!

OP, since you don't have an MC near you sounds like Newegg might be your best bet.

I wish I had a MC nearby. As it is I paid $440.00 shipped for a 2500K, P8P67 motherboard, and Gskill 1600mhz ddr3 from newegg.

Yea the price difference is insane really. Still not enough to drive the 3 hours with $3.00/gallon gas though :(

Newegg here.

Bonus as I wanted Civ 5 anyways and intel board works great

Got mine $368 shipped with motherboard and civ v with overnight xpress shipping

(2500k)

The 2600k wasn't worth extra coat in my books

Plus sales taxes.

I got mine at MC - total of $301 after tax - and probably I spent $6.00 in gas for the roundtrip too. Good deal, sure, but no way you can make it worth a 3 hour drive roundtrip.

I hear yah. From San Antonio to Houston it's 3 hours. It's about 1.75 tanks of gas which is about $60 total. Which means it's cheaper to just buy from newegg or amazon.

I could perhaps get someone to ship it to me from there, but the two people I contacted through email haven't emailed me back. Also it seems a few people got some extra deals and have been selling them through the for/sale forum here for about the price I would pay from MC. Trying to snag on one of those if I can.
