I am still excited for both Battlefield 1943 and Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Any new info on when we will be seeing them?

BF 1943 is due this winter according to EA, so probably within the first couple months of 2010. Bad Company 2 is coming out in march so i would guess they want to release 1943 before that.

According to the Wikipedia article, Battlefield 1943 looks like it will be released January 1 2010 for PC. After reading the summary of it, I did not realize it was so... I guess, stripped down? Could be quite a bit of fun though for only $15.

We will be seeing HL2 Ep 3 whenever some people at Valve want to make it, apparently.
The fact that they haven't mentioned it for a long long time implies that there's no point in waiting, it'll come if it comes.

Stripped down? I thought 1943 is to be a modern and updated version of BF1942 (the best of them all).

No, and smaller teams.

I got it for the PS3, to get warmed up before they pushed the date back on the PC version. I plan to buy this again for the PC, as that is how I really wanted to play it. Hopefully it can be modded, and hopefully it does come out Jan 1st. I leave a few days afterwards.

Thanks for the info minmaster. I had a feeling this would happen. They have more incentive to finish the $50 game than the $15 dollar one, plus, they have drawn the March 2nd line in the sand for BFBC2. All they have said for BF1943 is Q01 2010. And since 1943 is download only (no DVD mastering required), they can tweak up to the very last minute before releasing it.

I just finished Half Life 2 for the first time about two weeks ago, zipped through Episode 1, and finished Episode 2 last night. (Yeah, welcome to two years ago...)
I really liked them.

According to Wikipedia, Half Life 2 was released in 2004, Episode 1 in 2006, and Episode 2 in 2007.

What the hell, Valve? Where's Episode 3?

I imagine Valve is too busy rolling in the money to finish it.

I thought I was the only one wondering where Episode 3 is...

It will probably either come out next summer or they will wait for portal 2 and l4d3 to have some purple box promotion.

I no longer "anticipate" games at this point (with the only exception being any Final Fantasy game).

They can take their sweet time for all I care. Nothing we say or discuss will make it go any faster.

Which is funny cuz Left 4 Dead 2 came out right after Left 4 Dead 1.
Like 3D Realms working on everything EXCEPT Duke Nukem Forever. Then cancelling it.
Makes you wonder.
