I did a quick google search and didnt come up with anything.

I just bought this game for PC. I was going to buy it for Xbox 360, but I figured I got BioShock for Xbox 360 and this time it was the PC's turn for some lovin. :)

Before I open it I want to make sure it runs ok on a 2900XT @ 1920x1200. If not, I'll return it and get it for the 360.

Anyone seen any benches or have the game that can chime in?

I still have the X1900XTX in the closet, just in case I part ways with this 2900XT. I got 6600 as my high score with the X1900XTX. Guess I should update the rig huh?

Anyways

I just got the game installed and I must say, performance just plain sucks at 1920x1200 with everything turned to high.

During the training jumps I was getting a solid 60-80 fps with everything maxed. The training jumps had lots of planes and lots of guys in it so I thought the whole game would run pretty smooth.

When I started the actual campaign, I was gettingaround 45-50fps inside the plane, but as soon as I jumped out, I felt the game get real choppy. Fraps was reporting frames in the low 30's dipping to the mid 20's. When I landed on top of the building and starts shooting at the facist pigs the frames really started suffering. The first firefight I got into the frames were in the low-mid teens. Completely unplayable.

I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm not getting anywhere near the 70fps legion hardware got in their benches. Unless they only benched during the training drops (where I got 60-80 fps) something is wrong with my setup.

Opteron 170 @ 2.8ghz
2GB RAM
2900XT 800/900
CAT 7.8
Vista 32bit (<-possible culprit?)

They benched the demo using a C2D in XP. So I dunno.

I play at 1280x1024 so...yeah I won't have any issues with fps lol. Did you happen to have AA or AF forced in the control pannel?

I had AF enabled, I'll turn that off and try again.

This sucks because the game looks beautiful maxed out at 1920x1200.

Well I lowered the settings to medium and the game is now pretty playable with FPS in the 25-60 range. That's still pretty bad considering legion hardware pulled off 69 fps at 1920x1200.

They were using a C2D at 3Ghz with a P5K3 Deluxe running DDR3-1800 at cas7 on Win XP

That's way beyond your system so it's not out of the realm of possibility.

Some how I don't think this game would be that CPU limited at 1920x1200, for a C2D at 3Ghz vs a Opteron @ 2.8 to make that much of a difference in fps.

Under XP vs Vista with 3x faster memory? I think so...
