Where are the Intel 520 SSDs?

Last I heard, these were to be released in early November. Eagerly awaiting the much faster speeds, Intel reliability, and size options from the 520 series. Anyone know whent these are going to reach resellers?

I wanted to convert my X-25 G2 to a new 200GB+ 520 as I was switching over to my new SB-E build, but I can't find them anywhere (or news about them).

Aye. I heard from our Intel rep not before next year. Probably early first quarter. Sorry for the news, I'm waiting on one too.

Crucials are just as good in terms of reliability and the read speed is much faster, close to the 520s, SATA III and all the good stuff, until Intel comes out with 520, which I am sure will be overprices compared to competition, you can always get Crucial.

The 520 is the successor to the 510. Rumour has it that it will be an Intel drive with a Sandforce controller.

That sucks...oh well. 1Q it is....

Want a couple 100-200GB drives or a larger 200-300GB drive to load some large applications on that will not fit on my current 80GB X-25M G2. Would like SATA3 to take advantage of the nice read/write speed increases.

Relish in your X-25 G2 world.

Lots of bad news year end, across most technology lines. Delays everywhere. 🙁

Oh well, 2012 is looking to be exciting. (I think I said that about 2011 last year).

My 9 month old OCZ Vertex II became unrecognizable to the BIOS sometime last night, so I ordered a Crucial M4 128gb from Amazon since it sounds like it performs a lot better than the Intel 510s.

Why not Intel 320? Its a nice step up in performance from X-25 G2, its still all Intel built SSD with Intel's controller, its cheaper than 520/510, and most importantly its been on a market for some time and so far been quite reliable. Any newly released SSD, even from Intel, has a risk of initial release issues and firmware fixes. Just ask OCZ guys. 🙂

So they won't be hitting until 2012 huh? That really sucks, but I guess it's one more part I can cross off the waiting list. I'm not waiting until 2012, and who knows when in 2012.

I've also been waiting on the Seasonic X-1250. I emailed a Seasonic rep about it since it's on their website, but not in stores, and the response I got said it will hit shelves next month. Not that anyone in this thread cares about that, but if you do, there it is.

If I am going to pony-up for a larger-size SSD I want good performance in a SATA6 device. That means 500mb/s seq read, fast write, and good random access speeds. I would prefer to have Intel's quality as well...

Anyways, I can wait for now. There may be something better by then anyway.
