I have googled LCD TV reviews and a ton come up and I cant seem to find a decent review site. Can any one point me in the right direction please. Tried CNet but many of their reviews are old

I am looking for a good 37" LCD. resolution doesent matter as long as the picture quality is good. Good response time and if possible 100-120hz refresh rate. At least 2 hdmi (3 would be better or 2 hdmi and 1 dvi) Good standard def picture quality is a plus. S-IPS panel is also a plus

BTW how is the vizio VX37L?

Thanks

Your best source of information is probably going to be avsforum.com as well as here and on other sites. There are various review sites including consumer reports and cnet, etc... I always recomend avs because it's a great meeting place for a ton of people who are interested in home AV stuff. IE: while you can get info here from great posters like Yoyo and such, you can find 100+ people that have any given set at AVS.... same with most consumer AV products. They can often give better guidance about the specific abilities of a certain set (as well as problems and such that you might run into).

As far as your question about the Vizio VX37L, I've heard good things about it, but have never had the opportunity to view it outside of a big box store. Vizio generally gets good reviews based on their price. They would be one of the top "budget" names in LCD HDTVs. Depending on your tastes, that set could be perfect for you. However, don't expect it to have the blacks that a top of the line samsung or sony set is going to have (or basically any reasonably good plasma for that matter).

As far as your initial request, based on what you want, there are some TVs that fit the bill. The only 120hz TVs on the market right now are made by sony and samsung (the XBR 4 and 5, which are essentially the same TV, and the Samsung LN-Txx69F, 71F, and 81F series where xx is the size). None of these TVs come in a 37" offering (smallest is a 40"). I also want to say there is a new 120hz TV from JVC and one from maybe toshiba? I can't remember off the top of my head though. The ones I mentioned have been out for a little while and have already been put through the paces by review sites and consumers. The best bang for your buck 120hz set at around the size you want is the Samsung LN-T4071F which can be had at amazon currently for just under $1500. Compared to the price of an 40" sony XBR4, this set is tops (performance wise they are similar, but the Sammy kills it on price alone). I have been very satisfied with the SD quality on my samsung 4065F (a 60hz set), but I primarily use it for HD content and computing. I should also note that if you plan on using it for a computer (since you hinted at this when you said a DVI port), the samsung handles this VERY well. It does have 1:1 pixel mapping so there is no overscan, and the 40" is perfect for a computer monitor at say 3.5-5.5 feet. You can, of course, use either HDMI>DVI or VGA as it supports 1920x1080 over both ports (as well as 1:1).

Also note, I'm making the assumption that you want to use it for a computer monitor (as you mentioned DVI). If you are going to use this mostly for movies, I would suggest also checking out the very competitively priced 42" plasma offerings from Panasonic. However, if you are going to use it for a monitor, an LCD might be your best bet (that's why I went LCD). Resolution will matter, as you won't really want to use a 720p set (1366x768 res generally) for a computer monitor. The problem will be that you'll have to sit farther away than you would want to use for text viewing with a lower res set. For computing, there is no substitute for the higher pixel density of a 1080p set.

Edit: There are also some sharp sets which are 120hz... the model numbers escape me right now... i'm thinking the 82U series or something like that... can't remember off the top of my head but a simple google search would probably net you a list of 120hz TVs that is more complete than mine.

Thanks for the reply. I have a lot to ponder over. I will go over to avs and browse there. Thanks again.

You're going to have a real hard time finding a 37" with 3 HDMI/DVI inputs. You'd probably be better off just finding the TV you want (Olevia makes very nice, inexpensive 37" LCDs for example) and getting a HDMI switch from monoprice or something.
