Can you say vaporware? (Sorry, couldn't resist :p )

Are there any EM64T Xeon's available? I figure that once the Xeon's have been available for a few weeks, the P4's will become available.

I was wondering about this as well. I'm probably going to pick up a 3.4 or 3.6 for my video editing workstation, that is... if the price is right

Dell has these available in their Precision workstation line...so they're not vaporware, but they're probably getting to the OEMs first as usual, since it takes a while to trickle down retail.
Can't wait though...would hate to buy a cpu then not be able to run the newest OS =p

They *almost* fully compatible with A64.... In order to use more than 4GB on EMT64, the OS must use software translation....similar to how current 32-bit Xeons use PAE. This will pose a big hit on performance, where the A64 can use direct memory access instead of software translation.

P4-EMT64 adds 64-bit to a 32-bit processor, where K8 was designed from the beginning to 64bit. Same goes for dual-core, K8 was designed from the beginning to progress to dual-core.
