Where are the Democrats?

Sure winning some really small potato shit. We need a unifying message from those in power against these lies being spewed. Something to rally the base. Trumps base gets raw meat all the time, we have something to rally around now, just need some leadership. From the party that gave us the one candidate that could lose to Donald Trump in the election.

If you're talking about major rallies and lots of anti-Trump rhetoric from dems, then you're likely going to have to wait until the fall for that. It doesn't serve the dems well to go full bore right now, with the economy doing well, the NK thing going on, and the outcome of Mueller's investigation unknown. They're going to time it for maximum election impact, and they're going to tailor the message to realities as they will be closer to elections.

Now if deep down you really felt secure about yourself, you would not go around calling people stupid, as is your wont. That need would not arise, as it seems to arise with alarmingly regularity for you (which I most often ignore quite easily, because I know where it is coming from). But it is up to you to ask yourself - what is the source of that need? Again, home assignment.

As for smart, that was what I thought of myself when I was a hard core liberal. Now I don't think of myself as smart. Or stupid. I don't think in that way.

This must be an awfully new development for you then, as this is you a month ago:

Is there anything I can help you with, Sir?

No Sir, I’m afraid the pharmacy does not carry any pill that treats chronic stupidity.

I’m sorry you feel so insecure. Lol.

I doubt it happens much in the fall either. Democratic politicians read polls also and know they can't go too far on the immigration issue because supermajorities still support robust border enforcement. While the "children in cages" thing might generate some strong reactions and DACA generally enjoys good support, that's about the limit of how far Dems can realistically go in their support and still stay in the American voter mainstream. Heck even Obama realized that and ramped up immigration enforcement in some ways: https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/obama-deported-more-people/

<snip>

Now, the vast majority of border crossers who are apprehended get fingerprinted and formally deported. The change began during the George W. Bush administration and accelerated under Obama. The policy stemmed in part from a desire to ensure that people who had crossed into the country illegally would have formal charges on their records.

In the Obama years, all of the increase in deportations has involved people picked up within 100 miles of the border, most of whom [had] just recently crossed over. In 2013, almost two-thirds of deportations were in that category.

Stop being disingenuous!

lol at the gaslighted retard^

He believes that a non-partisan court decision is the same as "a law enacted by democrats." He refuses to acknowledge that there is NO LAW compelling the administration, now, to act in ways that no previous administration acted. There is no law you fucking idiot.

Stop lying. Start from the same facts that everyone is working with, and present your case.

Let’s stop the President has to enforce all laws by simply saying. Have the new Russia sanctions been enforced yet?

Morning Joe did a long segment on the detention of minor children of immigrants. At least the press is stepping up and making a lot of noise about this (well, probably not FOX). Also, various congresspersons are stepping up to the plate and weighing in on the current manufactured crises.

Congrats Dems, Hillary Clinton is out and speaking up on your behalf. Maybe if you're lucky she'll agree to run for you again so she can be a 3-time loser.

As I said elsewhere on this forum, I never expected her to go away gracefully after the elections. Because she never has had any grace in her to begin with. And of course the more she displays herself in public like this, the worse it is for Dems - she being one of the most hated public figures in America. For me, she is just about right up there (or down there) with Henry Kissinger - who not coincidentally, she proudly proclaimed her friend. Wicked ones belong together.

It's frankly bizarre that you believed she would no longer make any public statements after losing an election considering the fact that Mitt Romney didn't go away, John McCain didn't go away, John Kerry didn't go away, Al Gore didn't go away, Bob Dole didn't go away, etc, etc. The Clinton Rules live on even after she's no longer a politician, I guess.

The thing is, the Democratic party itself is powerless to do anything about The Mrs, they can't really convince her to keep a low profile or anything like that. Though they fully know how damaging and toxic she is. Some of the insiders have now spoken out how difficult it was for them to manage the gigantic competing egos of Obama and The Mrs inside the party and the administration. In general, you need a lot of narcissism to get to top spots in organizations, and politics - there are of course a handful of exceptions.

Hillary hate is the ultimate right wing duh-version, a talisman that wards off any tendency towards reason. It's a safe space, apparently.

I mean, let's just talk about Hillary, OK? Cuz everybody hates her. Was there something else we were talking about? Really? Raging on her is ever so much more fun, so let's do that instead...

Don't you think that is all the more reason for the D party to tap on her shoulder - "we have had enough of you, for several lifetimes actually" 🙂

Is that the reason millions who voted for Obama in 2012 voted for the vile one in 2016? Can liberals ever come out of the denial that the D party is seen as corrupt and self interested, esp when your presidential candidate is The Mrs!

Look what they are doing even now. Going to their knees in front of hedge fund billionaires...to work for the ordinary person of course!

And the double down on duh-version. Pathetic.

Where are the Democrats? Standing up for decency, Hillary included. Might try it yourself.

Don't you get it? It's better for Hillary Clinton to stand by and let a monstrous policy continue without saying anything. If she doesn't then the same reasonable and rational people who thought Obama was a secret Kenyan Muslim will get angry.

Noah Abrams is very, very concerned for the Democratic Party and only wants what's best for it, I'm sure.

You didn't answer the questions. Did millions become racist or diehard right wingers in 4 years? How did that happen?

If you want to discuss Obama to Trump voters then make a thread about it. It's entirely irrelevant to discussion of the current administration's human rights violations that people across the political spectrum are speaking out against.
