Hey guys, i'm interesting what's wrong with Saphires X1950PRO AGP card because ALL
retailers removed it from the sales list. I was thinking to buy one, now i guess i need to change choice by another one, HIS-XFX-PColor.
Any ideas?

Why do you think HIS 256MB card is better than Saphires 512mb ?

Yes OPEN BOX is the right card but i don't trust O.Box because i guess someone send it back not without reason.

No. HD 2600XT PCIe can't even beat 8600GTS which often loses to X1950Pro.

GeCube X1950Pro for $135 after MIR
It has dual link dual dvis, and remember the actual cards are all the same. The only things that differ are the coolers on them so there is no need. 512mb also isnt' that beneficial for a card of this level of performance. You should get the cheapest X1950Pro or even X1950GT and overclock that and start saving towards PCIe.

They probably figured too many people were getting out of buying a new motherboard for the PCIe socket just so they could upgrade their video card.

You're right though. It's almost no where to be found. Maybe they have something else up there sleeve, like an Utimate with an improved cooling design. Lords knows these X1950 Pros need it.

Sapphire maybe getting ready to stop manufacturing the higher end X1950 series to improve sales of the AGP 2400/2600 series when they arrive shortly.

Then why SAPPHIRE is still producing low end cards like 9600Pro, 9550, X1650, 9600XT and so on?

because they are considerably cheaper and will sell ten times the amount compared to the high end X1950pro.

the low end and mid range market outsells the high end market on a scale greater than 10 to 1.

yep, although I just check with suppliers and they are still availible in Australia (and Asia) so I guess it could be just a case of "out of stock".

But when in doubt check ebay, plenty of them for sale there.

I think the better question is why does Nvidia continue to pump out FX 5200 cards in 2007? I mean, of all the cards to keep making... ugh.

the same reason that ATI continues to make lower end GPU's...they sell lots of em.
