I hear it actually has to do with fear that foreign ammo exports will be banned to import here.

Yes. In other words, to be profitable both short and long term, not just either.

That leans towards short-term, because you can then shift approaches as needed.

Short term : fixed income, Longer term: equity (especially for 401K, I'd load up like no other)

Actually secured corporate debt is getting fantastic yields right now. I'd stay away from gold, it's gonna deflate as as soon as there's a sign of a recovery.

Personally I'm long on crude oil.

Heh they can't count presidential votes, what makes you think they'll be able to manage millions of serial numbers for bullters?

If anything this would lead to false arrests! Could you imagine if a serial killer happened to sell you half of his box of ammo... Its insane to think they can track over 1 billion different serial numbers.
