I need to format and reinstall XP and I would like to have a backup of my cookies to transfer to the new install. Thanks.

In the 'Cookies' folder in your profile directory. The directory will be hidden by default, but its there.

OK, This is what I found:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Cookies\index.dat

If I copy the Cookies folder to a flash card I should be ok, right?

Those arent your cookies. Yours would be undedr c:\Documents and Settings\Moffat Cafe (or whatever your user name is)\Cookies

The index.dat file is an index, you want the individual txt files as well.

To replace it with a new XP os you would have to boot in a safe mode.

Thanks bsobel, I unchecked: Hide Protected Operating System Files. Then I found my cookie jar.
