That 300 is a different set of people every time. You think just 300 people sit here 24/7 posting while over 30k people just registered for no damn reason?
 
Probaby 75-80% of registered users have 1 or fewer posts. Most people probably come once thinking they have to register to visit or just read without ever posting.
 
hehe the server should keep track of "uptime" each member has loged on the forum and have it figure into the member status.

After the recent board changes and resulting glitches, something between 0 and 1 may be possible zippy....
 
I'd like to see a list of all 30000 and how many of them post how often. I bet you'd find not more than 1000 have done more than 10 posts.

I do monitoring for compaq, I just watch 7 monitors for network problems, sometimes I read this for 8 hours straight.
 
I don't get to post as much as I want to, (Damm school) but I try to stay current on the hardware issues.
 
as nice as it would be to farm out the dead accounts, it looks WAY better to advertisers to have 30K memebers, than the real ~5K (my guess).
