Just got to thinking on my way to work and realised.

A. If there is such a problem with the florida Automated Voting system, who is to say this is the first year that this has occured? in fact wouldn't all previous elections then be inherently flawed since this method most likely has been used for a few years?

B. Why are not all of the votes in florida being recounted for all of the candidates for all of the elections then, instead of just the presidentail race? wouln't candidtates running for other office have reasonable grounds to request a recount on the basis that is once outcome is unfair then so might theirs.

And

C. If in fact the Automated system is not flawed, and an accurate count was given on the night of the election (Something the media is allready pushing to disprove) Where are all these new votes commming from? Kinda sketchy where the recounts are being done in "Highly Democratic" Areas and for some reason Gore has ammassed many more votes than previously recorded? I know that if I were a supporter of a certain candidate and I were conducting manual recounts you can be sure the candidate I favored would get a few more than the one I disliked, whether it be by "mistake" or whatever.

It seems as if whomever gets into office is inherently from this point out screwed.

If Gore gets in I know that throughout his four year term I personally will believe that he aquired the office through less than scrupulous means, and that most of his newly aquired votes in florida were manufactured through the democratic machine in those counties.

If Bush loses in the manual recounts and sues I would not blame him but I am sure that many would be tired of this crap and would be upset with him for his seemingly foolhearty action.

Oh well I am but one and can do nothing

EDIT:

I also just read in another vote that if Gore does come out on top Bush and the Repblican party might just be asked to let it go for the good of the nation, that person then went on to say that probabily the republicans would concede since they have the dignity to do so.

With this I highly agree, for the past 8 years the Democrats have shown themselves to be basically full of to use a lighter word crap. They will say one thing and do another, it would take alot for me to hold anything they say in high regard. I think that if gore Loses again he will sue againand drag this on even longer, seems like a sore loser to me, and at that point clinton will have to remain in office(what a nightmare).

Also someone else stated that bush may have manufactured votes or tampered with the initial election? well if votes were manufatured in bush's favor initially why are they not showing up now in the manual recounts? also I cannot see the machines being "fixed" so much as people being incompetent and not knowing what they are doing at the poles, hence all of the questionable ballots.

Then again this is just my opinion I am sure there are others which greatly differ

I heard that they found a box since 88 or something full of votes.

Anyway, the only thing that will save these elections is a revote with just those two. If one of them wins there will allways be doubt who realy won and a president who got the job like that will never be a strong president.

The "new votes" are coming from the ballots that were not cast in such a way as to be legal & valid (countable by the machine) as statutorily defined, which up until now was the way things have been done due to the fact that machines can't be partisan.

The situation now is that the supreme court has decided that some rules matter and some don't, and that some votes are sacred and some aren't, depending on who they might apply to. They have decided that its not fair to exclude non-valid ballots in three democrat controlled counties while at the same time not allowing ballots cast in the very same way, and subject to the very same rules, by voters in other counties to be counted also, even though they've now redefined what constitutes a valid vote. They have decided that its not fair for those 3 democrat controlled counties to be subject to certain statutory deadlines, but its okay for everyone else in the state that voted to be subject to other statutory deadlines. In other words, they've stricken all the parts of the governing statutes that would favor Bush voters over Gore voters and upheld all the parts that favor Gore voters over Bush voters. At least thats what they are hoping to have done. Typical politics as usual and highly transparent.

Ya know, there's an old saying that I've heard all of my life: "You can't do wrong and get by." Contrary to what many people think, the final chapter of this saga hasn't yet been written. There may yet be a few surprises in store for those who thought they could have their way with the voters. Stay tuned because I'm sure its going to get even more interesting before the last page of the book. :)
