Where are all these K6+ chips coming from?

A bunch of people in the thread about the guy waiting for a GTS for Christmas are saying they have K6+ chips running on their boards. I thought you couldn't get those things anywhere but oem on laptops. Where is everyone getting them to use in their desktops?
