When you're using Unattended install on winxp or even win2k

i made the winnt.sif file and put it into i386 folder of winxp pro.

the thing is a beauty.. but i just have one gripe..

when there are more than 1 partition with the first drive in this case, C, that has previously installed winxp pro.

If so, the install automatically installs the winxp in drive 'D' .. when i want to format C and and install it there .

is there a key i need to push? or something i should tweak in the winnt.sif file?

plz lmk.. thanks in advance 🙂

I had the same problem. Once you create your winnt.sif file, you need to edit it with notepad. Under the [Data] tab, make sure it has these attributes assigned:

AutoPartition=0
MsDosInitiated="0"
UnattendedInstall="yes"

With it set like that, you will get the partition selection menu.

awesome.. you're the best 🙂

edit: one more thing

it gave me partition menu.. but i can't format .. it gives me option to ,
1. choose different directory.
2. delete Windows folder and install
3. quit

hmm.. i guess no option to format?

edit2:

nm.. i'll just delete the partition and create.. and format it.. thanks 🙂
