People who propose in public and make a big scene about it are idiots. But yeah, this is probably fake.

My buddy did it. His girlfriend said yes, so as not to embarrass him in public, but then later said no. Plus she was a pretty shy person so it was fairly mortifying for her lol.

I remember once when i was in a long line for Splash Mountain ride at Disney Land a guy got up on one of the fake rocks about 10 people in front of us and got everyone's attention to propose to his GF. She said no and jumped out of the line while him and his friends stood their dumbfounded. I laughed quietly.

Back to the OPs video: Was he saying "you're my John"?. I've never heard that one before.

I didn't even propose to my wife. We had always talked about getting married, after about 3 years of being together, we stopped in a jewelry store, bought rings and 4 months later we were hitched.

No. Not necessarily idiots. Sometimes, it's what she wants. A public declaration. It doesn't make them idiots unless it's done in the food court of course. I know a couple that did it on the steps of Graceland. They were both very much public showmen in life.
