When you were underage, how did you hide your drinking???

Buddies and I would all have LAN parties at one of our houses, of course because of the amount of stuff we had to bring, it was extremely easy to carry cases of beer, or bottles into the house and then we would set up, get the games set up and start drinking... Because we were just playing computer games, our parents never really checked on us or worried... but BOY were we drinking...

I never really had the motivation/desire to drink during high school, my first real underage drinking was done in college and by then I didn't really have to hide anything.

I did not drink when I was underage, had better stuff to do.

I was probably in my late 20s when I started drinking anything at all.

I grew up in a third world country, so I could drink vodka on the street and nobody would give a fuck.

I grew up in a somewhat more egalitarian time and place before a lot of the material affluence that many of you now take for granted.

Times were quite different. For instance, there wasn't a single one of us (male) who didn't go get their driver's license the minute they turned 16, unlike what I hear happens today.

Parent's didn't go out as much, nor were the homes as vast. Most didn't have a separate "entertainment" room. So the only place we had to drink, really, was out in the woods or driving around in cars.

Because of this, I learned to drive while "under the influence" very, very well. As soon as whoever was driving started to swerve, I would demand to drive, and from that point on, I would put my entire attention into driving safely and well.

I enjoyed driving safely, defensively (before the term was ever even coined) and well, and I always brought the boys home safely!

Didnt you grow up during prohibition?

Vodka put into water bottles. Whiskey mixed into coke bottles. High school... those were the days. First started doing that when I was a freshman. I have no idea how I used to drink vodka straight like that LoL.

I grew up in a 2300 sq ft. house. It's not like i grew up in a McMansion, i think both my grandparents had larger houses (house 1: 6 bed, 4.5 bath; house 2: 5 bed, 3.5 bath)...

All of our LAN's however took place in the basement so parent's didnt really watch over us...

now, I will admit there was no such thing as the DD... it was always either the LDD (least drunk driver) or the first person to say 'I can drive'... In fact the day i bought my first manual vehicle, i drove 3 chicks back to their place that night after killing about 9 Labatts...

We knew which package stores didn't card, so it was never too difficult to get the booze. We never drank at home, we'd go to parties or out to movies or arcades or whatever and everyone had a case of beer in the car and a half-pint flask in their boot.

No, that happened later. Much, much later. Not, in fact, until decades after we threw off the British yoke!

Speaking of that, sadly, I was too old to serve in the Continental Army, so I did my part by verbally taunting the redcoats from well concealed positions and by withholding sex from female Tory sympathizers.

The latter was cruel, and those women begged piteously for the merciful ministrations of my John Thomas, but it had to be done.

War is hell, my friend, hell.

Reminds me of the drive thru's in Ohio...

Went to one when i was like 17.... with 4 other people in the car... like 15, 18, 19 and 21... I was driving.

All we had to do was have the 21 year old show the ID, the attendant put the beer next to the car and the 21 year old put it in the car...

I was sitting there after every one else told him the beer they wanted going 'hmm... what do I want to drink tonight'

LOL

You are so much better than me, it hurts.

There is just no appeal to it as far as the partying and getting drunk thing.

I still don't drink all that often and when I do it's usually a glass of wine with a nice dinner or a craft beer when out playing some pool, but that's about it.

I've never been drunk.

I was one of the strange ones that didn't drink until 21. Having some alcoholics in my family I have a healthy respect for it.

initially by being too young to be suspected of it... then in the 17-20 days we picked houses of vacationing or unattentive/overcompensating parents
