I hardly doubt a 16-year-old could *earn* a car.

Therefore... =spoiled.

I don't doubt it for one bit that a HS kid can buy a car, gas, insurance, pay for repairs, etc., all on their own.

What makes you think you earned that car, anyway?

You know, just because he's lucky doesn't mean you have the right to be a jackass about it. It's just amazing how some people can't stand seeing others have any kind of good fortune at all.

Man you totally nailed me.....I am sorry OP.I was just jealous of your success and hardwork.

lol! Yeah, I've always hated the stupid "jealous" thing.

Practically no one had a car in my HS...I mean, the driving age was 18 unless you could afford the bribe, so most kids didn't even have licenses until at least their senior year.

That certainly depends how you define "earned"

Didn't drive then and don't drive now. 23yrs old and no licence yet :)

Actually I'm getting one in a week or so but really even then I don't have much use for one.

1988 Mazda 626. This was back in 1988. Spent $3500 on the car, another $5000 to fix it over the next 2 years

What kind of spoiled tard had more than one car for regular use? I had a 1993 Dodge minivan that I drove starting at 16 (and I'm still driving it at 21). I used my mom's Civic occasionally but it was her main car.

uhhhh, no ...

well ... kinda

I'm getting my permit soon ... 1995 Toyota Camry 4cyl LE for normal home-to-school driving, 2005 BMW 330Ci Convertible for special events (homecoming ball, winter formal, etc.)

The BMW is my dads car and he has said that he'd lend it to me once in a while

I don't think my mom would let me touch her 1999 Mercedes S320

Well, my family had two cars, and occasionally I got to drive one of them to high school. In senior year, it was every day since my mom didn't need her car during the day. It was a 1986 Chevrolet Celebrity.

Almost afraid to post....

I had a 1969 Camaro SS 350 (pics to come)

Unlike others who had nice cars, this was not a daddy buy. I detailed cars to earn the money for it an had it 6 mo prior to my 18th birthday. It was sold to help pay for college and now.... 1994 Toyota corolla driven by the wife and 1995 Mazda MX-6 LS for me. <-- both paid for (leases suck no matter how good you "think" they are - same thing for that 0% interest bull crap).

It's amazing what a wife and baby will make you drive, but I wouldn't trade for anything. Maybe one day I'll pickup an old '69, but for now the Mazda will do.
