i use haha, of varying lengths... its more representitive of the actual sound... never do i use lmao or rofl, they just creep me out

lol = i'm smilling ironicly
rotfl = i'm laughing ironicly
LOL= i'm laughing
ROTFL = it's really funny and i'm really laughing
ROTFLMAO = i'm laughing so hard, that usually it's quite challenging to type this long thing.
ROTFLMAOPIMP = hopefully this never happens...

to this thread: rotfl😉 and lol to the fact that i reply

i think everyone deals with this issue. i hate using smiley faces and lol and rofl and all that fckin crap. So I end up typing "hahaha" all the time. but that is total crap, too, no one says "hahhahah". what can be done??!! aaaagh. yeah, like people say "aaagh." jesus christ. some people do things like type "::laughing::", which is a great solution, but looks so lame, like you are in a MUD or playing some kind of virtual Star Trek game in IRC.

bottom line: there is no good way to laugh in type. that's why you gotta get a webcam.

um yai i use lol for IM'ing. on AT i will rarely use it. most of the time i just put a quick 😀 in there or 🙂 , mainly i use these to amke sure people dont think im saying things angerly.

😀 at this thread

I've used LOL maybe 5 times total in my life. And it was when I laughed out exceptionally loud. For normal laughing, I write "tee hee hee", which shows I'm "happy as a little girl."

Ok now the real question is... how many of you have actually SAID "l o l" in real life conversation?? I heard someone say this at the mall...never had heard it before in conversation. They actually said the letters, L O L. :Q

No, and if you do hear anyone say out loud "L O L" - please advise not to breed.

I can't recall ever typing that acronym... ever. It seems so gay to me.

I'm the type of guy who types out the sound of the laugh. Like "hehe" or "bwahahahaha" and such.

Although I do, on occasion, use "LMFAO". But that's only if something strikes me as extremely hilarious.
