you'll **** bricks.

Craigslist ad I happened upon today.

"six core i7 970 3.2 Ghz, easily overclocked to 3.8.
Asus mobo sabertooth x58
24 Gb RAM 1600 MHz, overclocked to 1800 MHz
two Radeon HD 5870s 2 Gbs a piece in crossfire
two 2 TB SATA II harddrives
four 640 GB SATA I harddrives, easily raided
wireless N network PCI-e card
Windows ultimate 64 bit
DVD burner/CD burner drive.
600 Watt PSU in a full tower black case by ASUS"

put all that stuff in a PC case and give it a 600W PSU

should have easily been able to afford better if he was able to acquire all those other parts

Even a high quality 600W PSU would be iffy for all of that. And given the fact that he didn't have enough sense to give himself more headroom makes me think he probably didn't have enough sense to go with a high quality PSU.

If you're going to spend $3k on a computer, throw down the extra $50 and get a sufficient PSU. Wouldn't surprise me if he's having trouble with stability, and that's why he's selling it.

with that PSU, it probably crapped out and became a brick.
