When you put jelly on bread

Do you eat butter & jelly, or just jelly?

EDIT: NOT peanut butter, I mean regular butter/margarine with untoasted bread (ie. italian bread)

Hell yes. You got to do it quick with room temp butter so the toast stays hot, the butter melts, and the jelly stays cold.

I prefer butter only. On the rare instances I use something sweet(jam, honey, whatever) I omit the butter. When I make a PBJ, the peanut butter goes on one slice of bread, and the knife is well scraped against that bread slice. I then put the jam on the other slice of bread. The order of assembly is important to keep from cross contaminating the ingredients :^D

sometimes with breakfast. never just for a meal though.

It's a southern thing, you wouldn't understand. Served with dinner.

Looks at profile, OP is about jelly and not honey. Does not compute.
😀

You confused me.

And I eat honey on hot rolls, jelly on fresh bread.

Just jelly on toasted bread. Just butter/margarine on untoasted bread (but not really since I was a kid).
