Do you have to reload the OS, upgrade the intel chipdrivers, or do anything?

or is it simply like putting in a new cdrw-plug and play?

Tnx.

You may need to tweak some BIOS settings but for the most part you don't need to do anything.

You have to install the OS again if the MoBo is new. The chip is like plug and play.

depends.....like rommel said, you may have to do some bios tweaks. You may even have to flash your bios if the cpu you put in is not supported by your current bios. But, if the cpu is of the same fsb as the cpu you're replacing, you should be okay.

thanks. yeah, i remember a sticky somewhere , maybe at anand's, that you need to prep the os before switching mobos.- remove all drivers, etc. I got this th7][-R and i think i'll get a 1.6a p4 or maybe even a 2.4.
