What is your method of making music playlists? As in, what software(s) do you use? Where do you listen? What medium do you use? Apply effects?

I really started getting into making mixes to listen to on my drive to/from work. After I select the songs, I import them into my DAW software and use the mixer to normalize the volume across all the tracks, and will add EQ's as necessary. Then burn it to a CD and play it in my car stereo. The end result is mixes that sound fucking fantastic.

By hand. I usually play everything on shuffle, but sometimes I play genres that have been separated by folder in my collection.:

By hand myself.

And usually just hit shuffle.

If it isn't worth listening too, it shouldn't be there IMHO.

I don't even bother with folders on my MP3 personally, if I wouldn't care to listen to something at any given time, I get rid of it.

I used to make one long song with other songs mixing in at the tail end. So there was no pause and you couldn't shuffle. Basically, 1 track, many songs. I would use songs that kinda went with each other. Like I would have In God's country by U2 and then Desert Rose by Sting. Or use a common genre. I did this all on the computer and I have no idea what software I used.

By hand, i just drag and drop the songs in any format from windows explorer into the vlc playlist window. Could not be easier and never will be.
Or i listen to songs posted in the music thread here in ATOT.
