When you install a new mobo, do you need to flash the bios?

for example, should u download the latest bios and flash yur bios before installing any other components? also, where on the net can you dload the latest bios flashes?

the bios should be flashed to correct problems. It is not needed to flash before installing the OS etc.. but its a good idea to check newsgroup/forums etc. if a particular bios needs to be updated
The bioses can be downloaded from the mobo manufacturer website(abit, asus etc).
 
I guess it would be best to set it up to make sure the board works properly in the first place, so you can RMA if necessary...then if your board has issues that need correction for your particular setup that are corrected in the latest bios revision,go ahead and flash if you are confident you can do so with no problems. The old saying dont fix it if it aint broke is the rule here I believe
