When you have an itch, what do you do to relieve that feeling?

Surely you don't put cream on everything that itches. You must do something else that involves scraping your finger nails across it every once in a while...
 
I scratch it until I feel pain if it's on any part of my body excluding the head. If it's on my scalp, I try not to do anything for fear of agitating my fragile (read: balding) hair.

I scratch, if it's a very bad itch I'll just do a very fast scratch until it turns red and starts hurting. Pain overpowers itch, sometimes.
