when you got your job, did they ask you to send in an official transcript?

basically, I have two Fs in classes that should have been withdrawn (easy fix, but not until August and I'd have to drive 4 hours to my college) and I have two classes from a different university that were not transferred correctly.

I have been submitting resumes with what my GPA would be after those changes. could this come back to bite me in the ass at all?

if you suggest I get it all fixed, what if I get a job offer before that's possible?

were you asked for a transcript?

If you go to work for a college or a university, they will likely ask for your transcript(s).

If you go to work in the private sector, it would depend. That is, they might ask and they might not.

My perception is that they just check that you have the appropriate degree(s) and that you graduated from the schools on your resume.

While I wouldn't be too worried about a small difference in grade point average, I wouldn't get to far away from reality either... (Note, you can always say that you thought that you received Ws in those two classes. I wouldn't drive 4 hrs to fix it...)

Best of luck,
Uno

Yes.

I would be up front with them about the GPA /= transcirpt issue. Simply say that you going to fix the issue as soon as you can.

In my experience, they only verify degree status, not actual GPA or class grades.

We require transcripts (teaching positions in a high school.) If we see a bunch of Cs, it's not likely that you'll get an interview. My son was recently hired by a really good company - they required official transcripts as well. Below a 3.0 need not apply.

Depends what you're doing. Police department, expect them to ask for certified transcripts of everything. x.x

The admissions office should provide:
1) proof of your degree
2) class transcript (with or without grades).

Make sure you know which they are asking for.

A technically strong company will often ask for a class transcript with grades and gpa. This is standard for the types of companies most people want to work for. The technically weaker companies will not ask for the applicant's grades or gpa but may still require proof of degree.

No, I was not asked for a transcript (at any job that I've been at). Don't know if any kind of background checks, if done, would have provided this (doubtful).

Yes. Having a degree was a bare minimum requirement for the job, so I had to send an official transcript.

I wonder where that thing is sitting right now.

That was my experience, not that I had anything to worry about. You should expect that if you are applying for a job in the educational field. Some corporate jobs may require this as well, but only if you are getting hired on without any prior job experience or if they need proof of your degree in a specific field.
