didn't someone in a leadership position tell you?
Poor kid at work just found out he got promoted via email. He was asked if he was "ready" a month ago, and he said no, which is correct, he needs to learn more on the financial side. I am leaving, and I was gonna help him get promoted. Oh well

I was told about 30 minutes ahead of time on my day off that I had to show up to work (while shit faced) to be promoted.

I've never been promoted. When I get hired they just make me the boss because they recognize that my superior intelligence and height make me perfectly suited for being in command.

I guess we can't ever get hired at the same place

I have to do the actually job for 6 - 12 months then get broken down over and over telling me why I am not ready until finally -- promotion. Then it does not get announced for 1 - 2 weeks to everyone else.

Same here. Have to be basically doing the job for a year prior to promotion. They tell us at our annual review (promotions only done once a year), then a week after all reviews are done a company wide email goes out announcing all promotions.
