smile and show some enthusiasm.

Every year I hire a high school co-op to work with my tech. The schools cherry pick the best students so we usually get well qualified students.

The last two I interviewed were no exception, but they acted like they were at a funeral.

Maybe they were just nervous, but to me anyway, a lack of excitement about the job is a real turn off.

Look them in the eye when talking to them or when they are talking to you.

I try to make eye contact, smile when appropriate, sound eager, enthusiastic and pucker up!

i find that started the interview out with a good racial joke, or ethnic slur works best

I was interviewed about a week ago, and when asked why I wanted this job, I said "because I need a job"...she gasped... , but I think my honesty impressed her, because I got it. :)
