It was for a few days after I got mine.

It's worth it though... my teeth are perfect now :D

I've had them for 2-1/2 years. For me, it is a pain in the ass everytime I get them tightened. It gives me a headache each time.....

That is the only part that I hate about it. On the other side, my teeth look great now though, and I only have a few more months left......

It does but not your teeth (that much anyway). The worst part is when your tongue is getting used to them and the back, outside part of it keeps rubbing against something rough and metal. That will ache for a week or so, after that its pretty smooth sailing.

The insides of my cheeks got cut up pretty badly for about three weeks too. The ortho should give you some wax for it though.

..... AGAIN.... WTF???

No, they dont hurt too bad... they just take some getting used to. Your teeth may be a bit sensitive, but not really painful. Its hard to chew and eat at first. Stock up on Jello!!!

Its not that bad...

Unless you already have sensitive teeth then maybe. I've never had to use pain killers when I had braces, just tough it out and you'll get used to it.

I honestly think the two years of braces and another year or two for the retainer was well worth it. See :D:D:D

Edit
? where it wasn't supposed to be

Yes. It was not an experience I'm eager to ever repeat. Getting them tightened every month wasn't that fun either, but less painful than getting the damn things put on. I still have a slight overbite, but I don't really give a crap.

the worst pain is when they put rubber spacers between your teeth as preparation to places the braces. those things hurt worse then all the pains combined when i had braces.

That's nothing. I had braces two and half times cuz my first orthodontist screwed up. Oh, and I had my jaw surgically broken to fix stuff, too. Now that sucked. Let's see a couple nights in the hospital puking up blood, no solid food for a month (during college Christmas break!), and I was so swollen I freaked people out. But in the end, I think all the pain and agony was worth it and hopefully (knock on wood) and I won't have any more related problems for the rest of my life (or so the doctor says).

Only when they tighten them. The most annoying part were those rubber bands to fix overbite...swallowed a couple because I got too lazy when eating. Having teeth pulled out is quite exciting too.

I got them today... I think I'm going to ignore some of the eating crap... Check my other post in this forum if you're wanting other opinions as well.
