I don't know if I should make a friend request with people I rarely know.. which happens to be most of them that I can add

about 95% of my facebook peoples invited me. the other 5% were just people i had to have!

anyways... a friend made me sign up for it a while ago. I use it once every month or two just to see whats up

I added a couple of people (maybe about 6) who I was good friends with, and then other people saw me on FB and started adding me.

I quit caring about facebook after about 4 months of using it. Wow I can put pictures that can incriminate me later if I where to get in trouble. I already do enough bad things without people knowing about it. That and its useless when compared to aim

i invited a lot of people i knew, a few people out of the blue, and then got a few email requests to be added...

i did a lot of searching for long-lost friends, so i'd say that i've been initiating more.

I don't add people I don't know. If a casual aquaintance adds me I'll approve it, but otherwise I wouldn't have done it myself. I mostly just use it to find old friends I've lost touch with.
