When you excercise outside how do you handle passerbys?

What I mean is are you social and wave and strike up a conversation, etc. or do you focus on your activity be it jogging, walking, biking and ignore the world around you? Personally I try to ignore everyone because I am not out there to form a social club but to get some cardio in and it's time for just me. It doesn't hurt I have an MP3 player going but I don't keep it so loud I don't hear all outside noises as that could be dangerous.

What do you do?

Wink, lick your lips suggestively, or blow a kiss. They'll either avoid you like the plague, or you'll get plenty of exercise running away from the guys armed with aluminum bats and women armed with mace.

I just nod to someone if to someone passing buy and shake their hand, but I try not to get into conversation as I'm not there to waste time. I go in, lift weights, and get out.

I sometimes nod to people coming the other way, but I usually ignore everyone. I always have an mp3 player.

WTF. If some guy I was walking past tried to shake my hand I would knock him out. Dont shake my hand you psychopath.

I lightly smack their bum if it looks like they're pushing themsleves to the limit. it's they're out for a leisurely stroll, I engage in tongueplay.

I totally ignore other people when working out. Whether I'm running outdoors, or lifting weights at the gym, I'm not there to talk to people. Even if they start talking to me, I just ignore them and pretend like I can't hear them over my ipod.

I blast my mp3 player so I can't hear much. And I flatly ignore people unless it's an old guy because I imagine most older guys probably served in a war and deserve some respect and because I have an "old time" approach like they did to things as in always giving up my seat and holding doors for women etc.

Maybe I'll nod to a fellow runner if I see one, but I mostly pass bikers and I got nothing but disdain for those slackholes cruising nice and easy on their ten speeds all decked out in their pauncy racing uniforms looking down their noses at a guy working a hell of a lot harder than they are.

Whoops. For some reason I thought this was exercise in the gym and you met a passerby (I know most of the people in my gym).

I usually do the nod, or smile and force a "Hi" between breaths if it's a female and she's at least moderatly attractive. 😛 Generally when I work out that's all I'm focused on. Never talk in the gym.

Guys: Nod quickly.

Women: Wave politely. (One hand motion left to right, nothing else)

California is sexual harrassment HQ, so gotta play it safe.

LOL. You're either very popular with the workout set or you're wanted by the police in your hometown. 😀
