Last year I called Sirius XM to continue service, as the 6 months free with the new car was over. I got the package with some 200 stations including Howard Stern. I wanted the package with the traffic and weather, but that would have cost me more than I was willing to pay. I paid $99 plus a couple bucks by having them bill me at home and not pay by debit or credit card. I paid Sirius XM by check. Don't make fun, cause it doesn't hold you up at the supermarket.

I put the new cancellation date on my calendar, the day being tomorrow Thursday. Today I called the 800 number to cancel. After answering the verification questions, most which they fed me, I found out I then had to talk to the Cancellation Dept. I replied I thought I was already talking to them. So I was transferred, and I answered the same questions over again. Of course they tried to retain my subscription. They offered 25% off retail for the same service. That would be what I paid last year, coming out at $9 a month. They also offered me 5 months at $25. I declined that as well, because of the hassle in cancelling. Maybe if they come back and offer me the top tier package for 1 year at $99 I'll do it. I don't have any internet subscriptions. So it will be AM, FM and music from my phone through Bluetooth or USB.

Oh I was informed I had 27 cents left over on my account. They wanted to know if I wanted a check or to leave it on my account, in case I changed my mind and it would be applied to the new service. I told them that I don't care about that amount, so leave where it is.

They kept blowing up my phone so one day I picked up and said I would do it for $20 a year. He told me they'd do $20 for 6 months.

I actually get the music I want/like on iHeartRadio now for free and I still have my GoogleMusic for $7.99.
