When you are trying to get into a packed lane, do you use your turn signal?

It's safer if you do, but you run the risk of jackasses in the back speeding up to not let you in.

If you don't, you usually get in, cutting people off in the process. You run the risk of them rear ending you.

So do you use your signal in these situations?

Yeah. Drivers here are actually nice and will let a gap form so you can get in.

Yeah, I turn it on and merge without even looking. It's the best way to do.

When I was a dumb teenager I once was leaving a concert and could not get in at all so I opened my door where they could either knock it off the hinge or let me in

this is why i don't have to let people in, i drive shitty cars, when i drive my 1990 mazda, you see all the nice cars flinch, they stay far away from me

lots of insurance and a shitty car makes them Lexus owners cringe :awe:

what ever the situation calls for. If i can make the merge while being polite I will. If I can't i won't.

This, mostly.

Although sometimes I(As the person already in the lane) usually speed ahead of the gap so that way I don't get have to get stuck behind the lameass turning into my lane who will SUPER SLOW IT DOWN. Omfg, I have to slow down so much every time some guy gets in my lane in the front. >_<

I always signal.

In fact, if someone tries getting in front of me WITHOUT signalling, I intentionally fill the gap. Its not my job to guess where you want to go.

Here in PA its usually not a problem. Ive noticed people in Michigan are assholes when it comes to it so you have to cut them off to get in.

In Seattle, the drivers are all little pansies and they will let you in, even if they act like they're going to close the gap. So I signal and pretty much get my way.

On the other hand, I'll let people in, unless they're being assholes about it, in which case I won't. I drive a fairly nice car, but I still don't lose these games of merging chicken. If they cut me off and hit me, its their fault, so fuck 'em.

Oh, so you're one of those. As for your car thread in the garage... don't get one.

No. The only time I use mine is when I am actually making a turn.

I don't use it when changing lanes because 99% of the time people will speed up or slow down or do something else to fuck you over whether intentional or unintentional.

Maybe it's because you don't signal.

I always signal. And unlike most people, I actually put on my signal before I start moving over.

I have heard that in the Baltimore/DC area, though, you can't put on your signal because everyone will cut you off intentionally if you do. Anyone care to confirm?
