If you drink an entire bottle of Jack Daniels a day, you are an alcoholic.

No. I can do that for several days (months) and if I didn't have a bottle of Jack it wouldn't bother me at all.

Denial is the first stage of addiction.

Really? I go months/ years without drinking. I have no dependency. That is my whole point. It isn't how much but your need.

Oh, well, you're obviously not an alcoholic.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

I didnt mention how big the bottle was, and the number of hours before it was consumed.

750ml. 6-8 hours.🙂

Alright now cut it down to 2-3 hours and we're talking.

1)If they are drinking before lunch I would say they are an alcoholic.
2)If they show up to work with alcohol on thier breath, I would say thier an alcoholic.
3)If there solution to solve there problems is to drink, I would say thier an alcoholic.
4)If there only friends also do all of the above, I would say thier an alcoholic.
5)actually if they are an alcoholic they have probably driven all thier friends away...hmmmm have to think on that 4th one.

No. I know many people who are alcoholics. My father-in-law was. When all his alcohol was taken away he got extremely pissed, then child like and had the shakes. The doctor suggested giving him a teaspoon to calm him down when he got like that. That is dependency which is alcoholism. He is recovering but to this day (20 years later) sneaks off to drink. I do not share those symptoms..

I wouldn't have any problem with that but it just shows tolerance which is juvenile. It is still 3 shots an hour.
