When will we see HD-DVD drives?

How much longer do you think it will be until we start to see HD-DVD drives released by companies other than Toshiba and for prices under $100?
 
Next year, Nec will be added to the mix. I don't see any chance of under $100.

And, it looks like Pioneer will attempt a HD-BluRay combo drive where Samsung and LG have failed.

Again - no chance of it being under a C.

In any case, I would go for an external that could be moved around independently. There are also guys who have modded XBox 360 drives to work in PCs.
 
We have expensive readers right now, if you know where to look. They are considered professional or enthusiast products, not regular consumer products.
Writers wont be around for a little while and even then very expensive.

I'm sorry, I didnt read the question properly.
It will be a long time before we see lots of competition and the prices plummet.
