when will they stop making ps2

It's still one of the best selling consoles, second to the DS I believe. I'm actually shocked they quit making the X-Box - I was planning on getting a new one to mod for XBMC, then they quit making them!

Umm, they still make the ps1 don't they?

I'll get a ps2 to replace my ps1 when they get down to around 60-70 new.

As you can tell, I do most of my gaming on my computer so I'm not in a huge hurry to upgrade.

That's because MS was still losing money on each X-Box sold.

You're kidding, right? How could they lose money on a celeron 677mhz system with 64Mb ram and a 10Gb HDD? The XBOX is so ridiculously easy to make I don't see how MS could lose money on that..

I think they were unable to negotiate lower prices on the CPU and GPU. That's probably why they switched from Intel to IBM and from nVidia to ATI.
