When will the results of the Iowa caucus be known?

Exactly how does a caucus work? You sit in a room and debate candidates with other people or something?

Kerry is leading according to CBS. Dean and Edwards nearly tied for 2nd with gephardt in 4th.

I don't really know what this election means. It's not like a clear winner is likely to emerge from the field. I believe things will be as confusing after as it was before.
