When will the 7800 GTX 512mb be in stock all the time?

I'm just wondering when they'll be in stock constantly instead of selling out all the time.

My guess.... never. Unless the announcement has changed, it is being phased out soon anyway. Pretty short life.

Newegg says due in 12/21 for the bargain price of $750 ... my bet is they are in stock for like 10 minutes tops.

essentially they're non-existent, from any rational person's POV anyway...get 7800GT SLI and suck it down ;)

Not in game like WoW, where SLI is useless, to run WoW at a nice resolution of 2560x1600 full details, you need the best/fastest single video card, and a high end processor

Keep checking TigerDirect. They had it in stock several times over the last couple of weeks. That's where I got mine.

Id bet on never, I'm currently waiting in the EVGA step-up queue, and there are many more in line in front of me. But thanks to their great customer service if I dont get one I'll be able to step up to whatever their next gen card is though :)

Yeah probably not anytime soon if ever . . . paying $750 for it even when it does becomes availabe also makes no sense (vs. a cheaper 7800GT SLI setup) . . .

I could understand wanting max resolution for a game that only pushes as much polys as a latter day N64 title, but that blows considering the Fisher Price style graphics. The textures and effect are not bad but that game is a testiment to the failure of technology to compisate for lack of artistic ability.

the 7800GTX 512 was a well executed stopgap so Nvidia could keep parity over ATI until the next gen. Chances are they will never be cheap, in a lesser way as the Voodoo 6 never will be. This was all caused by Nvidia using the best and rarest memory on the market.

Whatever, if you think going from 45 to 60 FPS for WoW is that big of a deal I pity you.

There is a very very legit reason why these cards just wont be available again before the G71's.
Answer : The memory that is being used for the 512GTX's is probably the one being used in the newer cards (prob ATI and Nvidia).
Nvidia would be at a serious disadvantage if it dident have the fast memory on their newer cards if Ati had it on theirs.
I thought about this and it made a lot of sence. Also if true then it means the cards will be available very soon as everyone expected.
