Well it has been a year or so since I checked out anything. I have no idea what it was called. It had a nice picture like MCE, that is about all I remember other than it being difficult to configure. Maybe they have evolved over the time. I didn't even know there were more than two HTPC projects out there. I will look into your proposed solution as you say it theoretically is easy.

Xbox Media Center is quarky but I think a lot of it is due to the CPU and the memory limitations of the Xbox. Other then that, it has potential. You can record stuff onto your PC from TV and then stream it to the Xbox and use the Xbox DVD controller to control its functions. BTW, ATIs PVR software is terrible, well I don't use the guide plus but as for setting it for time record, it is terrible.
